What cha’ reading?

Do you see someone reading a book and feel compelled to ask “What are you reading” or “Good book”? I know I do, almost like I can’t help myself. I’m sure some of that pull is the search for the next good read. I’ve been a fan of crime books for ages and love a good mystery. Though I’ve never been one for a sappy romance there’s something to be said for a mindless beach read on occasion.

I’ve recently jumped on the audio book bandwagon, I know I’m tardy to the party on that one but better late than never. My first experience with audio books was the checkout DVD’s at the good old Cracker Barrel. I was not a fan but that may have been a poor choice of titles or maybe it was my mind, this was more than a dozen years ago and I had little kiddos and with that comes a poor attention span. Attempt number 2 on the audio book adventure was a rather complicated purchase, download and then transfer to the old school iPod which of course I had the hubby take care of because I just couldn’t be bothered. Oh how times of changed, a quick download on the merry little smart phone and your ready to go. There are lots of subscriptions out there but I’ve stuck with our public library as my source for audio books. The library app is very easy to navigate and the downloads happen lickity split.

So here’s a few titles I like:

We’ll call this our getting started list and I’m sure it will grow and evolve over time. The links above are to the first title in the series to give you a jumping in point.

Let me know your favorites, I’m always on the lookout for my next favorite book!
