Well y’all looky here!! I got the menu all planned out on Monday.
HeHe!!!
I hope this Monday finds everyone happy, healthy, and ready to start the new week. We are having a much cooler and slightly drizzly Monday here in my neck of the woods and I am certainly grateful. 90+ degrees for September in Kentucky is TOO MUCH, in south Georgia one can expect such hot humid days well into fall but here in Kentucky not so much. I find my menu planning is easier in the fall and winter, not sure why but my brain and belly think better when the subject is warming soups and stews. I realize I should also include a disclaimer (hmm is that the word I want to use?) I was raised by a good southern cook who was also raised by a good southern cook so often times supper at my house is not extraordinary by “southern” standards. That is to say fried something or other and rice with gravy is standard and can be whipped up fairly quickly, it ain’t fancy but it’s quite good and it’ll keep ya from starving (smile). I do like to try some new things from time to time and will link recipes when I do.
So without further ado herrrreeeee’s supper….
- Monday: Chicken strips, green beans and mac n’ cheese
- Tuesday: chili and baked potatoes with the fixin’s (sour cream & cheese, CHEESE give me all the CHEESE!!! Whew, sorry I got carried away there.)
- Wednesday: family night dinner @ church
- Thursday: fish tacos (these will be a new concoction, I’ll let y’all know what happens)
- Friday: simple Souvlaki(ish) on Pita (I’ll update y’all with the recipe, when I remember where I put it)
- Saturday: YOYO (you’re on you’re on) super busy Saturday grab what ya can, real life
- Sunday: crock pot roast, potatoes, carrots with rice and gravy (yes, I know potatoes and rice are both starches but that’s what I like, so that’s what I’ll be a making)
What’s for supper at your house?
Also, thanks for being patient with me as I figure this blogging thing out and please know that when in doubt I just add a comma (could someone, pay me, by the comma?).
Still messy, blessy and stressy,
Dianna
